The 2018 Wave Masters surf contest, was held at the Jacksonville Beach, Pier in marginal surf on the weekend of October 27th-28th. It was deja vu as coach Evan Thompson was crowned champion of the Taco Lu Mens Pro Division for the 5th year in a row.

Thompson Surf School students dominated several divisions including several 1st Place finishes by Carl Burger in the Boys and Juniors Divisions. Thompson Surf School student as well as seasonal Surf Camp Instructor, Kayla Durden took 1st Place in the Women’s Pro Division taking home a solid $2,000 CASH! Other TSS finalists include Landon Wood, Ben McCarthy, Sophie Falzone, Jordan Venn, Ty Jansen, Gunner Snead, Solon Maclaughlin, Lanea Mons, Jimmy Brittain, & Mikaela Nichols.
